Useful Martial Arts Tips

Several martial arts have different concepts but they may also have certain similarities especially when it comes to what they mainly offer, which is a chance for the individual to defend himself and the people around him in times of need. This is why several folks especially women are pursuing martial art training. They will certainly learn useful self defense techniques through that. But if you don't really want to hit back at your attacker and just have to neutralize his attack, perhaps the best martial art for you is none other than the Aikido. Its main concept is to manipulate the other person's or the attacker's physical energy and redirect it somewhere.

What sets Aikido apart from other styles is that it's more on the combination of spirit, body and mind that brings everything into a peaceful perspective amidst life's challenges. One can say that this is not the best martial art when it comes to battles. That's because with Aikido, you just use another person's energy against him but you're avoiding getting him injured in the process. You are just redirecting his attack and energy instead of shielding it and trying to counterattack. With other known martial arts, you will learn how to defend yourself through a series of powerful attacks and self defense techniques including kicks and punches. Aikido is quite different.

So how can you manipulate another person's physical energy and use it against him or perhaps just redirect it somewhere? This is probably what keeps several individuals wondering. First and foremost, take note that there are two things involved in the Aikido techniques and they are joint locks and throws. Expect that your Aikido training will revolve around those two. Let's start with the Ikkyo technique wherein it involves gripping your opponent's elbow with one hand while the other hand grips the wrist of the attacker or opponent.  The said grip will apply certain pressure to the attacker's ulnar nerve. How about Ai Hanmi Iriminage? This technique is about grabbing your opponent by his neck and pinning him to the ground. Meanwhile, a particular Aikido throwing technique is none other than Koshinage. This is actually a "hip throw" technique.

Those three are just some of the many techniques that you can learn if you undergo Aikido martial art training. There's Nikyo, Kaitennage, Gokyo, Shihonage and more. Many people who are not up for violence have considered Aikido as the best martial art since they don't really have to beat up their opponent. You just have to disarm him, unbalance him and redirect his energy and attack without him being hurt that much.
